An elegant dinner party for friends. Sounds delish, right? It is. And, you can totally pull it off tonight. (Okay, you can wait until the next Friday rolls around.) How do you bring the fancy, fast and without a fuss? Answer: orchids. A lovely orchid arrangement as a centerpiece is always a showstopper. We went all out orchid and dressed up our table in our Nouveau cloth with coordinating napkins in white and that fabulous shade of pinky-rose. Layer in simple white plates, fine silver and a variety of interesting glassware. An elegant tablescape needs nothing more than that. Just add your classy friends, some fine wine and a thoughtfully prepared meal. Voila!
It's kind of our mantra. Make it your new year's resolution to dispense with the crunchy, crusty, hole-y potholders, oven mitts and kitchen towels lurking beneath your sparkling counter tops.
You asked for it, you got it! kitchen towels! Brand new this spring in a host of fresh colors. Pick some up and get cooking!
That's right - NO IRONING REQUIRED! When I set out to create my own linen company this was at the top of my list. I wanted the ease of using linens everyday without having to worry about wrinkles unlike in Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management, a mid 1800's best selling book, that suggested at the time to,"press your linens". Only over a hundred years later, in the age of "how can we make things easier", we wanted to have a product that allowed you that ease. You're welcome.
Steps for "No Ironing Required" linens:
1. wash in cold water with other soft cottons
2. shake them out before putting them in the dryer on low heat
3. pull out immediately if not 5 mins before cycle finishes
4. open them up, smooth out, fold and stack
And I love using pretty bins and baskets to keep organized. (I may be partial to chicken wire.) Chic storage always helps conquer the clutter and elegantly dodge the mayhem before it starts.
