All week long, the forecast has projected many things for our weekend, however, it mostly looks to be that Hurricane Joaquin is heading east and will not make landfall. We are relieved on many levels as early predictions had the storm coming up the Chesapeake and would have had a significant impact on our area here in Maryland. Rain will be our biggest problem and with all of our waterways, makes flooding likely.
Even though the forecast is wet, I don't mind a good run in the rain. I find it energizing. I also have found that living near the water is beautiful no matter the weather. I am also excited to try the app, Run Hundred offering run playlists when I head out.
After my run, my plan is try this delicious combo of Honeycomb cereal + yogurt from our friend Laura over on Tide and Thyme.
Fruit, Cereal, & Yogurt Parfait
1 cup honey or vanilla flavored yogurt
1 cup Honeycomb cereal, crushed
1 cup blackberries
1 cup nectarines, peeled and roughly chopped
honey, for drizzling
fresh mint, for garnish
In a sundae glass or mason jar, place a few blackberries and nectarines in the bottom. Sprinkle with a small handful of the crushed cereal. Then add a hefty dollop of yogurt.
Repeat layer again. Then top with additional fresh fruit and crushed cereal.
A drizzle of honey and a sprig of mint for garnish, if desired.
And finally I am sure I will be wanting to spend the rest of the day under a blanket—this one from Pendleton is to blame along with our brushed 100% cotton pillows.
