We recently asked Matthew Robbins, a super talented designer and event planner extraordinaire, to weigh in on some unexpected color palettes for holiday decorating. (Matthew has used Hen House in a few events, so we like to count him as our first celebrity fan!) As a frequent contributor to Martha Stewart Weddings, InStyle Weddings, TheKnot.com, Sweet Paul Magazine, Brides Magazine + the Huffington Post and as the author of Matthew Robbins' Inspired Weddings, he knows just a little something about the "wow" factor. Prepared to be wowed... Matthew's palette pics:
Garden Gate Ochre + Latticework Aubergine
MR: "These are both fabulous for (the holidays) as they are rich, luscious tones and they add a layer of elegance and whimsy when combined."
Ornamental Scarlet + Bargello Grass
MR: "Ornamental Scarlet is a wonderful fabric if you are looking for a slightly retro vibe for your holiday decor. It mixes well with many of the red and green options from the collection. I love Bargello Grass for that same retro look and feel. This is a wonderful pattern for bringing life to a simple table setting. This retro pattern would look so fabulous with classics such as amaryllis or poinsettias as additional decor."
Tapestry Licorice + Linked Up Scarlet
MR: "Love breaking with tradition for the holidays by going super graphic and bold. Black and white is sophisticated and fabulous for any holiday table or party. Add in a pop of red with Linked Up Scarlet for a really fun and surprising winter palette"
MR: "I love Hen House Linens for the holidays as the collection provides an affordable and easy way to dress up any room or table. The linens also make great gifts for a holiday party! Put together your favorite patterns with a mix of napkins, runners or pillows as the perfect gift!"
